CASA Retreat House

Your Next Retreat Accommodations

Located in Lawrenceville, NJ, the CASA (“Convent at Saint Ann”) Retreat House is home to CFJ’s organizational headquarters and is available to rent for group overnight and day retreats. You can choose to rent the facility for your own retreat needs or if you would like to coordinate a service retreat for your group, CFJ offers FaithJustice Xperiences.

In a quiet residential neighborhood, the CASA is a retreat facility located on an active parish campus at the Church of Saint Ann. The facility features a full kitchen and dining space, multiple breakout rooms, and dormitory-style accommodations for up to 32 overnight guests. The CASA is approximately 45 minutes from Philadelphia and one hour from New York City, close to historic downtown Princeton, Mercer County Parks, and Grounds for Sculpture.

Annually, we run 6 retreats and a service immersion program at CFJ. The space is great for a group of students up to 50. We use the common area for all large gatherings. The girls love snuggling under blankets and hanging out comfortably on the couches. Additionally, the space offers opportunity for small group discussions to dive deeper in retreat topics. We usually bring our own bag lunches, allowing the girls so spread out on the ground floor and at the picnic tables outside during snack and lunch breaks. And the grounds lend themselves nicely to a great game of tag. Stuart students have developed a level of familiarity with the space and see it as an extension of their own school community.”

As a Campus Minister at Cristo Rey, and having just finished my second cycle of freshman overnight retreats, I find comfort in the familiarity of this retreat house—from its cozy, mismatched furniture in the conference room to the spacious kitchen (in which my students joyfully make breakfast in the morning.) Creating a prayerful experience for 30 sugar-hyped teenagers—7 weekends in a row—can be a challenge, but the CASA space and its kind, flexible staff help make it a truly memorable weekend for our students. When I think of the CASA, I think of our roots, of security, and of lots of pizza.”
