COVID-19 Updates

Official Statement from CFJ President

We value our partnership and appreciate the trust you have in us to provide transformational experiences through our JusticeworX, ServiceworX, LeaderworX, and NeXt Level programs as well as others offered by the Center for FaithJustice throughout the academic year. We continue to work to create safe experiences that not only inspire youth participants and program staff, but also create stronger communities.

After careful prayer and deliberation, we are announcing the suspension of scheduled WorX programming for summer 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak and response.  This  pertains to ALL JusticeworX, ServiceworX, and LeaderworX programs scheduled for June, July, and August.  Activities related to NeXt Level, including the Ignition Retreat and Level Up program weeks, have moved online or to a new parish-based format.  Our hearts are heavy, but we know that this is in the best interest of our entire CFJ community.

This is not a decision we made lightly.  Over the last two months, we have devoted countless hours in consultation with various stakeholders, program partners, and national peer organizations.  We have followed every update from the CDC, American Camp Association, and other leaders in emergency management preparedness. We have re-worked, revised, re-designed our programs in innumerable alternative formats to see if we could meet the required mandates to ensure the safety of participants, volunteers, and staff while also maintaining the program integrity of our mission experiences.  After exploring all options, it was determined that we simply do not have the needed capacity or infrastructure…

FAQ

I have paid for my child’s WorX program already. What are my options?

For the ease of all our participating families we are rescheduling several of our WorX programs to the academic year. If you are a current program registrant or parent, you should have received information related to your specific program week or you will receive it very soon. Thank you for your patience.

For those not being rescheduled, you may transfer your registration to a summer 2021 WorX Program or contribute these funds as a tax-exempt donation to the Center for FaithJustice.

If you have additional questions about this, please email Mare Ernesto, mernesto@faithjustice.org.

Why would I donate my program fees?

JusticeworX and ServiceworX are programs of the Center for FaithJustice, which is a non-profit organization.  Like many, program fees are a major source of our operating revenue.  We make every effort to keep our costs low so that WorX registration fees are manageable and attainable for interested families, but as a result there is no “profit” in our work.  These funds are invested throughout the year to do all the work needed to develop safe, thoughtful, and fun programming.

Donations made to CFJ are exempt to the amount allowed by law and will allow the organization to survive after the pandemic.  We are so grateful for your prayerful support!

I received the new dates for my child’s WorX program, but he/she cannot attend.  What should I do?

We are happy to transfer your registration fee to another 2021 program week or you can contribute these funds as a tax-exempt donation to the Center for FaithJustice.  Please contact Mare Ernesto (mernesto@faithjustice.org) to explore your options.

How can my child stay connected with CFJ/WorX this summer?

We will be providing resources on our website. Additionally, our staff will be in communication with many of our service site partners in the weeks ahead and will share ways that you can support them in “real time” from home. This a great way to get the whole family involved in some good worX!

You can also follow us on Instagram and Facebook!

What if I have to transfer from JusticeworX Trenton to Down the Shore or Dunlow – will I have to pay the difference?

No, we appreciate the inconvenience of having to postpone to a new date and will honor the price that you have paid.

What if my child chooses to attend a program location that would cost less money than already paid? Can I get a refund of the balance?

We will honor the difference, but ask that you consider contributing these funds as a tax-exempt donation to the Center for FaithJustice.

If my family is facing significant financial hardship due to COVID-19, what are my options?

We understand that these are difficult times for everyone throughout the country. As a small non-profit organization, we are deeply impacted by the suspension of our summer programs.  This is the right decision to ensure the health and safety of our participants, but it will have a devastating financial impact on our organization.  We certainly empathize with others in a similar situation.
If your family has been personally impacted by COVID-19, please contact Mare Ernesto (mernesto@faithjustice.org) to discuss your options.
